Leonard A. and Helen Russell Bretschneider Scholarship

Purpose: To provide scholarship support for graduating seniors of Solon High School who have attended for four years, achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and are planning to enroll full-time at an accredited non-profit educational institution.

More about the program: Leonard A. and Helen Russell Bretschneider were lifelong residents of Solon, Ohio, who left money in their will for scholarships for Solon students. They wanted to award scholarships to graduating seniors who have attended Solon High School for four full years, to further their education.
The Bretschneiders wanted to support “good” students who have done well, but are not necessarily the top-achieving students in the class. They wanted to make the opportunity for post-high school education available to any student who is active in school life, who is a solid citizen in society, and who has shown a positive effort in school.
