Bags & Bourbon

Introducing Bags & Bourbon

As things have changed over the past year, we thought it was time for the Bag Lady Luncheon to change, too…

Join us in 2022 for Bags & Bourbon, an evening of cocktails, shopping for new and used designer handbags, bourbon tasting, and more.

And while the name may have changed, the best things stay the same: Bags & Bourbon will still support the College Now Mentoring Program and its mission to help students succeed during their postsecondary journeys.

Thank you to the 2022 Bags & Bourbon co-chairs, Suzanne Aral-Boutros and Angie Ianiro Spitalieri.

History

Inspired by a similar event in Palm Beach, FL., College Now held our first Bag Lady Luncheon on September 26, 2013. The event exceeded the ambitious objectives of Judi Embrescia and Sally Stewart, the founders and co-chairs of the 2013 event, netting over $160,000. Since 2013, the biennial event has doubled in attendance, auction items and proceeds, all of which benefit College Now’s innovative Mentoring Program.

Bag Lady 2019 netted over $400,000 for the College Now Mentoring Program. The generosity of our guests at that event has literally helped to change the lives of thousands of Northeast Ohio students as they pursue their college degrees!

Thank you to our incredible 2019 event co-chairs, Suzanne Aral-Boutros and Trina Evans, for their unparalleled leadership; the sponsors who made this event possible, including KeyBank, our exclusive title sponsor; the Host Committee and 2019 Men’s Committee members; the Bag Lady Executive Advisory Committee; our program panelists Margot Copeland, Leah Hudnall, and Shelby Roberts; all those who donated handbags, accessories, or other items for the auction; the College Now Board of Directors; and the College Now staff, all of whom were unbelievable volunteers at the event.
